How Much Will This Cost Me?
Do you want to know how much this will REALLY cost you next year?
We understand the dynamics of our community and we're sensitive to that. Not everyone falls into the nice tidy box of a $100,000 to $200,000 residential home owner. As a rural community, farmers & ranchers share a healthy portion of the property tax burden in our district. These commitments are generally considerably more than the typical home owner.
If you're a homeowner, farmer/rancher, business owner with commercial property or a landlord with multiple properties, please take the time to punch your numbers into our calculator. We want everyone to make the BEST informed vote for them. Uncertainty and misinformation often times leads to fear of the unknown.
1.) Locate your 2019 REAL Property Tax Statement. If you can't find your statement, go to the Valley County TAX SEARCH website and type in your name. Locate your property. Click on Bill Image.
2.) Locate your properties "Taxable Value" on your 2019 Tax Statement. This is the ONLY number you'll need from your tax statement. If you own multiple properties, land parcels, businesses, please collect a tax statement for EACH property. Confirm that your property is located within the Glasgow School District (0925 1G - GLASG).
3.) Here is a the PORTION of the levy that you will be voting on "DISTRICT SCHOOL LEVY". As you can see, last year there were 250.41 mills. This year the school board has proposed 254.11 mills. This will be reflected in the EXCEL WORKSHEET calculator.
4. Click on the link for the 2020 Glasgow School District LEVY CALCULATOR and download the file. If you own a SINGLE Residential home, punch in the "Taxable Value" and see the estimated tax increase you'll pay in 2020 if the levy passes.
5. If you are a farmer/rancher, business owner with commercial properties or a landlord with multiple properties, click on the "Multiple Properties" tab and punch up to 10 properties into the calculator.
